WANTED : Experienced Front Office Medical Assistant for a Family Medicine Practice who thrives in a quick pace, busy atmosphere!
The Front Office Coordinator will be responsible for patient checkout and will work collaboratively with other front office staff to ensure a high degree of excellence with the patient experience. Every member of the staff will be a team player; possess the ability to deal with people of all levels in a courteous and professional manner; demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task.
Responsibilities
The Front Office/Medical Assistant is a dual role of being the first point of contact for patients in the clinic while supporting front office functions, as well as caring for patients in a Medical Assistant capacity while supporting back office functions
  • Keeps patients and families informed of wait times, monitors the flow of patients, processes patients for check out including collecting payment, obtaining all necessary signatures and issuing receipts
  • Performs patient care duties under the Medical Assistant scope of responsibility
  • Supports the practice with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity
  • Ensures the clinic and front reception area is running smoothly and patient flow at the optimum, as well as provide patient care services in the back office medical setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient
  • Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments and direct calls as indicated
  • Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
  • Notifying back office team and providers of patient arrivals
  • Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
  • Verifying patient eligibility and benefits
  • Ensuring that patient demographics and financial records are accurate and updated
  • Collecting patient charges
