ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare month-end and year-end financial closings according to schedule.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements; troubleshoot any discrepancies.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations; research and trace information to make all necessary corrections and adjustments.
• Oversee the preparation and processing of weekly payroll; ensure accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Assist in the selection, implementation, and administration of employee benefits; prepare and file year-end reports to include review of ACA filings.
• Administer pay and benefits per union contracts; member of bargaining committee in contract negotiations.
• Complete and file required tax reports and returns, including property and sales tax.
• Manage the accounting, office and customer service staff to include interviewing, selecting, scheduling, performance evaluation and coaching.
• Assume key operational role in the gift box business.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of IT to maintain the integrity of IT systems.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements; advise VP of Finance of any irregularities in the accounting processes or documents.
• Purchase office equipment; maintain inventory of office forms.
• Back-up employee job duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, with at least five years of previous accounting experience; CPA preferred.
• Proficient computer skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. Experience with Paycom and IBM iSeries environment a plus.
• Ability to formulate and understand mathematical equations.
• Analytical, good at solving problems and using sound judgment.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor.
• Detail oriented and organized. Accuracy is essential for this position.
• Ensures confidentiality and ethical conduct.

DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF POSITION:

• Work on-site, in an office setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
