Venture Personnel is Hiring an Interior Designer Near Sarasota, FL

JOB SUMMARY

Our team is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a prestigious full-service architecture firm, based in Sarasota, Florida, for an experienced Interior Designer. This role involves close collaboration with Project Managers to support development and coordination throughout various project phases. The ideal candidate should effectively work within a team, particularly alongside a senior designer/project manager, and independently on suitable projects. The candidate should display a strong command of all design phases, possess a creative vision, and contribute to elevating design standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Developing technical and design solutions using drawings and sketches.
  • Selecting and researching project design materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Producing construction documentation ensuring accuracy, code compliance, design intent, and proper construction detailing.
  • Maintaining an understanding of building codes and construction regulations.
  • Generating and developing overall interior design concepts, including color/material selections, and specifications.
  • Preparing elements of project schematic/conceptual designs.
  • Creating required layouts, sketches, and space plans to convey design intent.
  • Preparing design presentation materials and participating in presentations as necessary.
  • Completing necessary project documents, including minutes, schedules and specifications, field reports, and punch lists.
  • Conducting on-site visits and field reviews, providing directions to contractors and vendors.
  • Reviewing construction administration RFIs and submittals.
  • Participating in team meetings, including weekly design team touchpoints, educational learning sessions, discussions on new products and trends, and design critiques.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in hand and computer-aided design and drafting skills.
  • Strong programming and space planning abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of design trends, construction methodologies, material applications, and supplier appropriateness.
  • Advanced understanding of furniture, fixtures, equipment, architectural/interior materials, lighting, art, signage, color, and materials to fulfill design goals.
  • Basic comprehension of building regulations and safety codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precise technical plans, drawings, details, and models.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and LEED guidelines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality service for clients.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, working collaboratively with architects, project managers, production staff, consultants, contractors and vendors.
  • Proficiency in essential technical skills for interior design, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Revit, and 3D modeling software (Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities.
  • Background in commercial, sports, and/or education market segments.
  • Professional interaction skills for business development and project execution.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • A proven track record of organizational skills and client satisfaction, meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
  • Florida Interior Design License (or eligibility to obtain licensing in Florida).
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Commercial Interior Design.
