Description

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor, provides support in all aspects of Information Technology services to the patrons and staff within the District.

Full-time position: Non-exempt, 37.5 hours per week. Includes day, evening and weekend hours 

Starting Salary: $20.59/hour

DUTIES

• Serves as first responder for internal helpdesk system for staff and addresses Information Technology issues in a timely manner.
• Assists in monitoring all Information Technology system functions and assists in their proper operation.
• Assists in the creation and maintenance of written documentation of department procedures.
• Assists in the support of building audio visual and automation technology.
• Assists in the training of staff on Information Technology services.
• Compiles and interprets statistics and prepares reports.
• Keeps current of all new technological procedures, processes and equipment.
• Attends professional meetings as appropriate.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Requires expertise acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in a field consistent with the responsibility of the position.

Experience: One (1) year proven experience providing support for Information Technology systems and end users.

Skills:

• Knowledge of productivity suites.

• Ability to work with technical jargon and translate it to the library workplace.

Information Technology:

• Demonstrated abilities with troubleshooting Windows and OS X software and hardware.
• Familiarity with Windows and OS X operating systems.
• Familiarity with Apple computers and operating systems.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and networking troubleshooting skills.

Communication:

• Strong customer service skills.
• Communicates effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to stay calm and effective in difficult situations.
• Ability to empathize and relate to the needs of all patrons

Physical requirements for this position include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, ability to push carts of library materials weighing up to 100 pounds rarely, lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds rarely and lifting materials up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position. Will require some weekend and evening work.
