Crow Engineering, Inc. is Hiring a Corporate Controller Near Beaverton, OR

Summary:

Crow Engineering provides engineering design and consultancy services to its clients in the wood products, industrial, and heavy commercial industries. The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial health of Crow Engineering. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Member Management: Oversee four direct reports responsible for accounts receivable, payable, office management, billing, banking, onboarding, IT, and payroll.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor the company's annual budget and forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure efficient and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Financial Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Systems Management: Maintain and enhance financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize working capital.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure the company’s financial stability and resilience.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in long-term financial planning, including capital allocation and investment strategies.
  • Cost Control: Analyze costs and implement measures to control expenses and improve profitability.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Tax Planning and Management: Oversee tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Participate in due diligence and financial analysis related to potential mergers, acquisitions, and other business development opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as required, providing financial expertise and support.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Experience in the engineering or construction industry is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with Deltek Ajera .
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate and develop team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
