Thiesing Veneer is Hiring an INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE Near Mooresville, IN

Thiesing Veneer Co. is a family owned custom cut hardwood veneer manufacturer located in Mooresville, Indiana. At our production facility, we convert various species of hardwood logs into sheets of veneer that will be used for wall paneling, doors, furniture, cabinets, flooring, and musical instruments.

Thiesing Veneer is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice interested in working with and learning from our experienced maintenance team. The position will have have daily and weekly PM's (greasing and cleaning) assigned to it, and will work with the experienced team members to learn more about industrial maintenance and systems. The work environment requires that you work near heat, noise, dust, and dirt with the physical requirements of standing, walking, heavy lifting, climbing, crawling, crouching, bending, squatting and kneeling as needed.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm & Saturday 7am-Till Work Finished (Sometimes finishes early 11am or can be a full day). Saturday work is mandatory and you must commit to the majority of them, but if you need to occasionally schedule one off it can be planned out.

Pay Rate: $17.00-$20.00/hr

The Ideal Candidate will want to learn about:

Mechanical systems (chains, sprockets, motors, belts, bearings, shafts, gear boxes, conveyors, etc.)
Hydraulic & pneumatic systems (cylinders, valves, pumps, solenoids, brake systems, compressor systems, plumbing, etc.)
Electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays, frequency drives, PLC’s, reading schematics, running conduit, pull & land wire, 480-24V circuitry, lighting, transformers, etc.)
Stick welding & powered hand tools
Forklifts and lifting equipment
Fabricating new parts and repairing damaged parts as needed
Troubleshooting the different systems (diagnostics and problem solving)
