WITTENSTEIN North America is Hiring a Sales Engineering Manager Galaxie Drive Systems Near Bartlett, IL

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to find, assist and support existing and potential Galaxie customers and the WITTENSTEIN Inc. organization in the selection, application and commissioning of the WITTENSTEIN Inc. Galaxie products that provide the optimum solution for the customer's applications. To provide further leverage of their product knowledge, the Sales Engineering Manager organizes, creates and provides supporting information, tools and training necessary for the effective sales and support of WITTENSTEIN Inc. Galaxie products in the market. In addition to directly supporting customers and the internal and external sales staff, the Sales Engineering Manager will provide valuable information feedback to the manufacturing and development branches of the WITTENSTEIN Inc. organization to enhance existing products and develop appropriate new products for the target customer markets enabling WITTENSTEIN to exceed revenue and profit expectations.

  • Perform market analysis and customer research. Attend trade shows and conferences to build network and to understand the specific needs of customers, new technologies and markets to provide them with an optimal solution. Find new potential customers and work together with them accelerate the growth of the Galaxie technology in the United States.
  • Provide timely preparation of Galaxie quotations in consultation with the sales engineers. Provide answers to technical questions on Galaxie products from customers, customer service and other department personnel concerning the proper and optimum application of the full range of products offered by Galaxie drives.
  • Analyze customer needs, then develop and write formal technical specifications, performance requirements and proposals for application and integration of products for customer applications including simulating customer applications to resolve problems or confirm proper sizing and control solutions. Also qualify and test Galaxie products with other components on the market to ensure compatibility. Build technical Galaxie competencies in the United States for sustained growth. Create Galaxie calculation documentation and offers.
  • Perform modifications of the Galaxie design for custom products of customers in U.S. Submit the modifications to the product commission in Germany for approval following the Engineering modification request form.
  • Work with service, development and product engineering in Germany to recognize and diagnose chronic problems and failure mechanisms and provide solutions to improve the products
  • Participate in meetings, seminars and training sessions to stay appraised of new developments in the field. Acquires new technology skills through attendance at in-house training seminars as well as commercial or academic training courses

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree is required. Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Must have two (2) years of engineering or sales experience of drive technology
  • Project Management experience is a preferred
  • Practical knowledge of mechatronic systems and their use
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as calculus, differential equations, analytic geometry and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to work independently on single items as well as cohesively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Office, CRM System and SAP is preferred
