Jenison Public Schools is Hiring a Remote Jenison Innovation Academy (JIA) Full-time Online Instructor
- State of Michigan teaching certification required in Social Studies (RX) for grades 6-12
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to educational excellence
- Curricular knowledge consistent with secondary social studies education
- Successful teaching experience at the junior high and/or senior high level
- Strong instructional technology experience (preferably within an LMS)
- Report to JIA campus daily from 8:00am – 3:00pm
- Participate in professional development for successful online and hybrid teaching & learning
- Instruct social studies courses online within Blackboard, customizing content for students as needed
- Serve as a mentor teacher for students in 11th grade
- Communicate weekly with students and parents, providing a supportive online teacher presence
- Supervise in-person and virtual learning center (LC) tutoring sessions throughout the week, also hosting (inperson) and virtual activities and academic advising
- Host live instructional sessions for each course assigned
- Monitor student academic progress and attendance/engagement data weekly
- Proctor grade-level, school-wide assessments
- Follow academic support plans for struggling students, working closely with the JIA Lead Teacher & Assistant Principal
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Uphold all JIA Handbook expectations and policies
