Anchorage Senior Activity Center is Hiring an Administrative Assistant Near Anchorage, AK

Job Summary: This position assists the management staff in ensuring the effective delivery of activities, programs, and services by providing information and administrative support.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably have a college education, AA degree with a minimum of five years of broad clerical/office management experience with a minimum of two years as a supervisor
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 60 w.p.m. accurately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office software
  • Possess excellent time management and organizational skills; have the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Exhibit professional judgment in sensitive/confidential situations
  • Must be willing to be flexible and willing to switch tasks frequently
  • Must have a valid Alaska Driver’s License and a driving record that demonstrates safe driving practices
  • Must be or become first aid and CPR certified
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage professional and personal scheduling for the Executive Director and managers (as needed), including agendas, emails, calls, travel arrangements, and other company logistics
  • Perform administrative and office support, such as typing, spreadsheet creation, and drafting office publications.
  • Compile important data efficiently and clearly at the request of the Executive Director and other managers for various projects.
  • Responsible for scheduling and assisting in employee recognition programs
  • Work with managers and directors to draft written reports for the Executive Director’s input, review and editing
  • Prepare and present effective written reports and take notes at various staff and Board of Director meetings for the Executive Director and managers
  • Be punctual and neat in personal appearance and attire
  • Demonstrate maturity, dependability, judgement, and empathy in the performance of assigned duties
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, staff, ASAC Members, and ASAC matters
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned or required by supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Environment:

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Moderate stress may occur as this is a fast-paced company, particularly during closing periods. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Work may require occasional after-hours and/or weekend work.

Physical Demands:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
