Retreat Bakery Bar is a woman-owned and operated bakery that seeking a part time and/or full time Front-of-House Associate to join our team! We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, pastries, baked goods and desserts, and serving high quality beverages to accompany. While we do serve coffee, tea, beer and wine, this position is for a dessert and pastry focused position. This is not a "barista" position.

Potential candidates must have:

• A passion for desserts and pastries. (We love cake. And cookies. And biscuits. And pie. We want you to also!)
• A passion for exceptional customer service. (we want you to go above and beyond for everyone!)
• A drive to meet and the exceed quality standards of the bakery for food, beverage, and service.
• Proven experience serving alcohol and following all city/state/federal liquor laws.
• Experience and comfort checking identification of guests in order to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
• The ability to follow instructions accurately.
• The ability to follow recipes and prepare menu items in accordance with established procedures.
• The ability to produce consistently prepared beverages every time.
• Good knowledge of coffee, tea, and baked goods.
• Good sense of planning and preparation for the day ahead.
• The ability to monitor products, supplies, and equipment.
• An understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• The ability to take direction.
• The ability to safely serve alcohol in a responsible manner.

• Basic math skills and accuracy in cash handling and running a register.

It is important to understand that due to legal restrictions in our shopping plaza, we do not have an espresso machine. We make hand crafted coffee drinks using a high quality local coffee beans utilizing craft brewing techniques to create an equivalent to espresso for our beverages.

Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age (no exceptions).

Starting pay is $11.40/hour plus tips. Tips are kept by each individual and are NOT a tip share. You keep the money you earn, which is on average $10-$15 dollars per hour.
