Job Summary

The Estimating Team members work closely with the Sales, Engineering and Operations. Responsibilities include processing request for quotes and preparing quotations for services or manufactured products in compliance with Executive Management financial goals and objectives. This will include estimating material pricing, estimating labor and overhead pricing, conferring with the scheduler on lead times, working with the VP of Engineering on manufacturing techniques and processes, and consults with the VP of QA on Quality requirements of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost/bid proposals for manufacturer of fabricated parts.
• Thorough review of BOM and supporting documents.
• Participate in bid/no bid decisions based on preset criteria.
• Identify, develop, and create opportunities for process and system improvements to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop processes and procedures to implement functional strategies.
• Evaluate information and analyze problems logically to develop solutions.
• Recreate cost proposals for existing Projects, create proposals for newly issued RFQs.
• Conduct preliminary cost estimate.
• Analyze project cost and profitability upon completion.

Skills and Abilities

• Complete and thorough knowledge of all manufacturing principles and procedures.
• Excellent math and reading skills required.
• Ability to interpret simple and multi-level bills of materials.
• Ability to communicate both internally and externally at a professional level.
• Must have strong computer skills with Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Prior ERP knowledge helpful.
