Automotive Manufacturing is Hiring an Automotive Paint Mixer - 3rd Shift Near Greenville, SC

Automotive Paint Mixer

Summary of Responsibility

The primary responsibilities of the Paint Mixer are to prepare paint, adjust viscosity, and maintain the paint system.

Job Description

  • Responsible to run/maintain the mixroom throughout production.
  • Perform viscosity checks and make adjustments.
  • Mix paint according to correct specifications.
  • Rebuild pumps/regulators/systems as needed.
  • Perform temperature checks and document.
  • Ensure all quality form/documentation completion.
  • Maintain storage areas for paint by segregating expired paint and maintaining FIFO.
  • Properly label and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Follows proper handling techniques.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Superintendents, Supervisors, and Management.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established housekeeping standards (5S).
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, non- compliance issues.
  • Adheres to DCS’s health and safety, environmental, operating procedures, policies and forms.
  • Utilizes all required PPE.

  • Be respectful and courteous to my co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

Communication

  • Maintain proper records and backup documentation.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Attend all required employee meetings.
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions, and complete related course materials.
  • Provide feedback to employees (both positive and negative) on an ongoing basis.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts for the department.
  • Coordinate with other departments to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Introduce or recommend changes to work methods, aligned with IATF16949:2016 and

ISO9001:2015 methodology.

  • Willing and able to learn and support Continuous Improvement initiatives such as; 5S, Standardized

Work, Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, and Poke-Yoke.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Highscool Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2years paint mix experience.
  • Must speak/read English fluently.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent eyesight and hand/eye coordination
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to operate manual paint equipment and tools.

  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • High attention to detail and orderliness.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
