Job Title: Mental Health Professional - IC

Employment Type: Independent Contractor

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Professional (Independent Contractor) will provide comprehensive mental

health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic

interventions. The contractor will work with clients across various age groups and backgrounds,

delivering evidence-based therapies in a professional and confidential manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Assessment and Diagnosis

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments to determine clients' mental health status.
• Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.

Therapeutic Interventions

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.
• Adjust therapeutic interventions as needed to meet client goals.

Crisis Intervention

• Offer immediate support and intervention in crisis situations.
• Develop safety plans for clients at risk of harm to themselves or others.
• Coordinate with emergency services when necessary.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and any changes in client status.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of client information consistent with HIPAA guidelines
• Ensure that documentation of service planning, authorization, billing and provision is completed in a manner consistent with Agency Policy and Procedures and State rules/definitions/laws

Collaboration and Consultation

• Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, schools, and community agencies.
• Participate in case consultations and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide referrals to other services or specialists as needed.

Professional Development

• Stay current with developments in the field of mental health through continuing education.
• Attend regular supervision and training sessions.
• Maintain licensure and professional certifications.
• Compliance with Federal, State and Agency Policy and Procedures as related to provision of clinical services.

Qualifications:

Education and Licensure

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• Current, valid licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LPC) in the state of Arkansas.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working with diverse populations and a range of mental health issues.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Flexible scheduling to accommodate client needs, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods.
