APEC Engineering Inc. is an engineering firm located in Bedford, OH that specializes in custom design/build for industrial applications and processes. APEC is a dynamic, fast-paced company with a team-based approach where employees work closely to meet the varied needs of the industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Assembler and Installer to join our manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

Candidates must be able to perform the following responsibilities

Teamwork

• Work with the manufacturing team to complete work orders by the defined deadline.
• Communicate roadblocks, delays, and/or design issues to the project manager.
• Facilitate Manufacturing Project Closeout

Manufacturing

• Maintain proper documentation that is accurate and up to date.
• Understand and demonstrate compliance to general workmanship standards.
• Read and understand assembly drawings.
• Identify the mechanical and electrical components required for the assembly or installation as per drawings.
• Understanding of industry standards related to fasteners, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe fitting, conduit and electrical routing, and machine grouting in relation to assemblies or installation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, bend, and assemble materials.
• Lead equipment assemblies by planning the most efficient assembly sequence, setting up assembly work cells, and purchasing all necessary materials.
• Loading, Unloading and Rigging equipment with forklift and rigging equipment.

Installation & Startup

• Lead equipment installations by creating installation task lists and purchasing all necessary materials.
• Lead on-site installations with teams of 1-3 people.
• Lead on-site installation safety meetings.
• Complete Quality Checks. 

Service

• Complete assigned service calls per APEC’s systems and standards.
• Interact with customers with professionalism.
• Maintain program organization per defined systems.
• Promote APEC Engineering Services for additional sales.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand AutoCAD and Solid works drawing packages.
• Ability to Electronically record time, interact by email, and use the Employee Portal.
• Clear, concise, respectful, and professional communication skills – oral and written with team members and customers.
• Ability to work in fast paced work environment with a team-based structure.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Installation experience with prior training.
• A sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools, power tools, and forklift.
