Richmond Volleyball Club is Hiring an Assistant Director of Programs Near Henrico, VA

Job Description

The Assistant Director of Programs plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day activities and processes within our organization for our Adult program, Outreach program and Daytime programing. This position will contribute to strategic planning, resource management, and operational efficiency initiatives to drive the company's success in these programs. This individual interacts primarily with Executive Director, Evening Operation Manager, and Outreach coordinator, but also office staff, board members, club members, parents, coaches and referees.

Description of Essential Duties/Responsibilities

1. Operational Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with RVC's goals and objectives for Adults program and Outreach program.
  • Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in developing procedures to standardize operations and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and explore ideas for operations during daytime.
  • Work closely with the Evening Operation Manager on the Adult program by creating the annual planning, participating in the seasonal registration, learning the app administration, and replying to members' inquiries.
  • Work closely with the Outreach Coordinator to maintain and expand our relationships with the counties and schools, help with scheduling the coaches, create and implement standards for our coaches to align with RVC’s values, and help organize the Outreach summer camp.
  • Work with budgetary constraints.

2. Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to operational teams, including the Evening Operation Manager, the Outreach coordinator, and staff, to ensure cohesive and effective collaboration.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Represents Richmond Volleyball Club in a professional manner at all times.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of all work, i.e., completion of tasks, reports and other commitments.

3. Manage Resources and Optimization:

  • Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet operational needs efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure adequate staffing levels and optimize equipment and building utilization.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison between the operations department and other functional areas within the organization to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Communicate operational goals, objectives, and performance metrics to staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address operational challenges and drive process improvements.

Education/Abilities/Training

  • Leadership and managerial experience in operations or related field.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate work appropriately.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Recreation, Business administration, or related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
