Job Title: Field Inspector

Pay Rate: Starting at $18 per hr

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Job Overview

Perdido Realty is a locally owned and operated luxury vacation rental company dedicated to providing our owners and guests with outstanding hospitality. Our operations are centralized on Perdido Key to ensure quality and maintain the ability to respond quickly. We are looking to hire additional part-time or full-time Field Inspectors with a strong work ethic and a passion for hospitality.

The Field Inspector position is crucial in ensuring that guests and owners arrive at a property that is clean to Perdido Realty standards. As a front-line position, with hospitality being the focus, you will use technology to guide you through checking all aspects of a vacation rental property and communicating any items that need to be addressed. This position is ideal for someone with acute attention to detail, who is a self-starter, and who can actively manage a complex schedule to complete assigned items.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Inspect properties pre & post-reservation to ensure that the property is clean and presentable based on company standards.
  • Inspect appliances for damage and proper operation, reporting any discrepancies through the mobile device app, verbally, or a combination based on severity.
  • Communicate with the department head about all assigned tasks.
  • Communicate with housekeepers, direct employees, or department heads to discuss assigned tasks and cleaning orders.
  • Use technology to communicate with fellow employees, so that status of properties or issues make it to appropriate departments.
  • Check property stock levels based on the number of guests the property sleeps.
  • Deliver and replenish stock items that a property requires.
  • Identify and report safety concerns to company management.
  • Deliver needed items to housekeepers or other personnel.
  • Complete minor cleaning tasks in season and more extensive tasks during the off-season.
  • Complete minor repairs – including but not limited to tightening loose screws on furniture or hardware, plugging in proper cords/connections on TVs or other devices, and placing shower curtain rods.
  • Assist with laundry operation – rolling and/or packing unit bags.
  • Any other items company management may direct you to complete.

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license with a good driving record and reliable transportation. Valid auto insurance is required.
  • Subject to pre-employment and/or random drug screening.
  • Subject to a background check.
  • Must be willing to travel locally as needed.
  • During peak season, required to work weekends and holidays.
  • The schedule is 8-12 hours, depending on the shift day and workload.
  • Previous experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium work requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • The employee is subject to coastal climate conditions; extreme heat, high humidity, and possible high winds.
  • Employees are subject to conditions that could affect or create physical reactions from interacting with odors, dust, mists, and chemicals.
  • Employee must be able to extend their hands and arms in all directions and move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Employee must be able to raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position.
  • Employee must have close visual acuity to perform tasks such as transcribing and viewing the operations app.
  • Must be able to consistently bend, stoop, reach, climb, and descend multiple stairwells.
