Duties

Double J Riding Club’s Camp Counselor is responsible for teaching all Double J’s horse/animal camp activities. Daily duties include:

• Serve as a role model with high integrity, and the ability to adapt.
• Direct group activities with Team leaders, co-workers, and campers as appropriate.
• Supervise all aspects of the campers’ day including group activities.
• Assist Campers in the development of the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Facilitate projects, games, and activities in and educational and fun manner.

Qualifications

One year of college or the equivalent of two years’ experience preferred, including coursework in education, biological sciences, communication, therapeutic recreation, or other directly related field or subjects, such as public speaking, interpretation, theater, recreation, environmental studies, children and families, or art and interpretation. Experience working in inclusive informal, educational, or recreational programs a plus. Must be able to lift 30lbs, and be able to work with arms over shoulders, do climbing, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, carrying, and walking. Prolonged standing and walking required.

Commitment

This is a contract position from June through August 2021. Hours are full time, Monday-Friday from 8-4 during the contract term. All planned absences must be submitted before hiring.

Compensation:

Salary: $15 per hour. Full Time Seasonal Position.
