Community Engagement & Outreach Manager - Indiana
Center for Energy Education (C4EE) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Halifax County, North Carolina with additional offices in Indiana. This is a full-time position based in Indiana.
The Center’s mission is to provide a place where education, research, and industry-leading professionals work and learn side-by-side and educate and inform the community about all aspects of energy, from generation to consumption.
Job Description
Reporting directly to the Center for Energy Education Regional Director, the manager will work personally with a diverse group of representatives (local and state government officials, key partners, non-profit organizations, academia, and community organizations, etc.) in Indiana and the Midwest to promote and expand the mission of the Center for Energy Education.
Work responsibilities include:
Additional Responsibilities
Develop relationships with state and county officials - participate in monthly meetings to stay informed on matters related to solar project activities - work with government officials on all matters related to upcoming solar projects. Work with them to educate and engage key constituents.
Engage community leaders, churches, and organizations to further C4EE education and training programs. Identify opportunities to hold educational and training events for the community. Determine avenues to educate the community about renewable energy.
Develop relationships with school leaders, administrators, and teachers to promote C4EE programs - Participate in school events, programs, summer camps, solar education programs for students and teachers, etc. Identify educational and STEM opportunities for schools.
Team up with local solar representatives to support local solar projects, permitting and zoning meetings, landowner meetings, etc.
