The Accounting Coordinator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation and management of funds, ensuring alignment with the funding organization's goals and guidelines. This position involves collaboration to distribute and allocate resources effectively, providing effective administrative support to donor clients, and managing accounts payable. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately manage and process payables including documentation, record-keeping, and reporting to support specific programs operated by the Philanthropic Services and Community Investment teams. 
  • Ensure compliance with established guidelines and policies. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fund expenditures. Conduct reconciliation processes between grant application system and accounting system to ensure accurate reporting. 
  • Facilitate the payment to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers. 
  • Review invoices and similar documents for accuracy and alert supervisory staff of any discrepancies. 
  • Assist in the review of submitted funding requests through the grant application portal, ensuring adherence to established criteria and priorities. 
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports summarizing expenditures and providing insight on program success and challenges. 
  • Support effective communication and collaboration between OCF and stakeholders to ensure seamless operation, alignment with goals, and program objectives. 
  • Help and provide back-up support to the Grants Manager as needed.
  • Assist in answering phones and other clerical tasks as needed. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma required; individuals possessing a level of education that, together with experience and training, gives them the required knowledge and experience to perform the outlined job duties. 
  • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems. 
  • Must be able to learn and operate accounting software systems. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interact with employees, vendors, leaders, and other community stakeholders. 
  • Prior experience with bookkeeping and basic mathematical skills.
