POSITION SUMMARY

*Multi-Family construction experience REQUIRED; Access Control & Camera experience is a *

Working as a member of a project team, the Low Voltage Technician is primarily responsible for enhancing over-all job site productivity and ensuring high-quality work. You will have a goal of completing tasks with a high degree of quality & efficiency, while practicing professionalism for optimal job performance. This position is centered entirely around Multi-Family construction projects. Openness to some travel for work if needed is a requirement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

· You should follow safe work practices and company and client work site policies. Safety is first in everything we do.

· Understand and implement installation of structured cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process (Unit wiring, Home runs, IDFs/MDFs, installation and termination of Cat 6, CCTV, Coax, etc.)

· Read and interpret all floor plans, drawings, specifications

· Properly set up a variety of copper testers & perform system testing and troubleshooting

· You should proactively self-motivate

· You should ensure to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

· Always maintain a satisfactory compliance with customer and site requirements

Additional Responsibilities: As identified and assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

· High school diploma or GED

· Required In-house Certified Training (company provided); OSHA 30 (company provided); Manufacturer Fire Stop training (company provided)

Experience:

· Minimum 1 year work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience. Low Voltage Experience is necessary and required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· You should be able to understand and effectively explain aspects of the structured cabling system including cable pathways, termination, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make quality recommendations.

· You should be able to choose the correct tool & methodology for a given task and can help other team members determine the same.

· Demonstrate ability to learn from senior team members

· You should exhibit a positive attitude

· You are a solid team player

· Must be able to distinguish Color Codes

· Ability to understand, read, and write English

· You always pay high attention to detail

· Maintain the ability to meet deadlines

· Willingness to work on days, nights, and weekends as project requires

· You constantly self-motivate and have excellent work ethic

· Demonstrate teamwork and versatility in integrating into multiple work environment

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Obtain approved manufacturer certifications (paid for by company)

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The standard work environment for this position is a construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. You are frequently required to stand, walk, and constantly move around. You must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. You must regularly carry and climb ladders of various weights and heights often.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When possible, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

TOOLS:

Some tools will be required to be provided by the employee during the first three months of service. These are small personal hand tools, drills, etc.

All larger tools are provided at company expense and are to be secured & maintained by employee.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
