General Accountant Job description

B & B is a distributor of Anheuser-Busch InBev and other fine beverage products.

General Statement of Position:

Position coordinates and directs the financial systems of B&B Distributors to help ensure the efficient and effective management of fiscal and physical resources and achievement of company goals. Provides shareholders with effective management and leadership planning in these areas. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy. Serves as a member of the corporate Steering Team. Reports to the CEO. Position is responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions for the company and has the capacity to acquire the necessary skills to develop into a Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily banking and accounts receivable entries and balancing.
• Monthly and annual internal corporate financial statements.
• Financial institution reporting.
• Annual financial reporting to main supplier.
• Billbacks and vendor billback collections.
• Work with A/R adjustments for various items including, but not limited to, payroll, driver transactions, and donations
• Manages relationship and communication with external auditing firm to include assistance with year-end audit.
• Ensures that expenditures are categorized appropriately.
• Analyzes present and future cash flow concerns.
• Establishes and maintains control of accounts receivable policies, procedures, maintenance and collection.
• Provides back up for the processing of payroll.
• Work with Accounting clerk on A/P and A/R review and cleanup.
• Additional accounting duties as necessary.

Experience/Requirements:

• Requirements include a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance supplemented by a minimum of three years related accounting experience.
• Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel and the ability to catch on to our current accounting software program.
• Attention to detail and ability to adhere to established deadlines.
• General ledger and account reconciliation experience.
• Prior month end and year end closing experience.
