BHCA is seeking a Christ centered Elementary teacher who aligns with BHCA's Mission: Christ Centered, Academic excellence, Realtionship focussed, and Excellence driven. This individual will be ministry minded, a life-long learner who is responsible and accountable for personal growth and development in self and students. He/she will be able to write lesson plans that align with grade level standards, instruct in a variety of ways to meet students' individual needs, and follow BHCA's philosophy of education. The elementary teacher works directly with students, parents and administrators. Essential duties and responsibilities: Strive to implement by instruction and action instructional goals and objectives while tracking academic standards. Prepare course objectives and an outline for course of study following BHCA curriculum guidelines and requirements of a private Christian school operating in the State of South Dakota. Collaborate with the principal to determine the placement of students. Modify or adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of students. Analyze testing data to adjust and meet the needs of the individual learner. Interact with students utilizing a variety of methods and techniques for classroom instruction. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of appropriate classroom behavior. Maintain a positive learning environment. Ensure a safe environment for students and staff. Support and promote Christian principles, a Christian worldview, and the mission of Black Hills Christian Academy.
