Capezio is Hiring a Director of Retail Sales Near New York, NY

The Director of Retail is responsible for managing and leading our 8 retail US stores and coordinate with our two international stores. In addition, manage P&L statements, implement plans established by the division to achieve sales, developing, and coordinating retail productivity and profitability. Must have strong Profit & Loss financial acumen.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Retail Division to ensure profit and losses are within budget.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of the annual budgeting process.
  • Strategize with the Store Managers on ways to maximize sales and profit.
  • Address underperforming stores and devise, implement and monitor strategies to improve performance.
  • Visit each store outside the tri-state area at least once a month and ensure merchandising directives have been met as well as all policies and procedures are being adhered to and stores are consistent.
  • Guides stores to develop and execute strategies to drive business and exceed last year sales
  • Appraise subordinates on positive performance and assist with formal performance evaluations
  • Ensures stores within are visually enticing, neat, clean, and organized
  • Assists stores in identifying opportunity in business and strategize solutions
  • Takes appropriate actions to ensure each store maximizes sales, minimizes assets and conforms to budgetary requirements
  • Supports and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Participates in the customer experience as needed by facilitating seamless service and act in the best interest of the customer when resolving customer issues
  • Observes selling behaviors in store to ensure that the best service is being provided. Understand the client and demographic of each store in market
  • Helps store teams engage the community by driving in-store events and outreaches
  • Identify talent, develop managers, train and hold the team accountable to the Company standard
  • Receptive to feedback and able to modify as necessary
  • Recruits and maintain a staff that reflects the needs of the business and assist with formal performance evaluations.
  • Manage all Marketing details including email blasts, basic store signage, promotional signage and store ads.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers and upper management.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer service. Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and orally. Travel as needed for store visits, store openings and special projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • 5-10 years of store management experience with stores that do $5M plus in volume
  • Is a good judge of talent can articulate the strengths and limitation of people inside and outside the business and communicate effectively to them
  • Engages the store teams in a manner that is respectful and professional
  • Communicate with employees at all levels of the company
  • Provides global feedback and offer possible solutions to corporate / store business partners
  • Keeps the team abreast of corporate direction through timely emails and voice mails
