The Property Accountant is responsible for maintaining the books and records for multiple core plus fund entities on a GAAP basis. In addition, the Property Accountant is responsible for all financial reporting, including quarterly reviews for investors and annual audited financial statements for the funds. Responsibilities include all day-to-day accounting matters such as cash management, as well as monthly account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, fair market value analysis and investor reporting.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger for the funds, REIT and other related entities.

Prepare monthly account reconciliations and work papers to assist in managing the business.

Responsible for cash at the fund level including monitoring of balances, wire preparation/review and monthly reconciliations.

Calculate and process management fees and reimbursable expenses; reconcile all intercompany accounts.

Prepare line of credit draws and quarterly lender reporting.

Prepare investor capital call and distribution notices.

Prepare quarterly reviews for investors for multiple funds.

Prepare annual audited financial statements for multiple funds.

Prepare quarterly fair value (investment company) accounting for real estate and debt and dividend income.

Prepare quarterly investor capital statements and monthly/quarterly NAV statements.

Track investor preferred returns.

Assist with annual audits and tax requests.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

2-4 years of accounting experience preferably in public accounting; real estate experience a plus.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.

Working knowledge of Yardi accounting or another property management software a plus.

Solid organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Ability to work with all levels of management and staff in a team environment.
