Position Title: Practice Manager
Practice: Children’s Health Services, PA
Location: Greenville, NC
Position Description:
This position aims to ease the administrative burden of the physician owners in the operations of the practice, while also being solely responsible for a variety of key administrative processes. The position’s objective is to maintain a consistent, high-quality level of operations that supports our main clinical mission.
The Practice Manager serves as chief operations officer for Children’s Health Services under the direction and support of the physician owners. In general, the position maintains/oversees the facility, equipment, and supplies, negotiates, and maintains all vendor contracts and relationships, negotiates, and maintains managed care contracts, manages key operations such as administrative support, clinical support, revenue cycle team, quality improvement, information technology, human resources, and marketing. The position supervises and supports a productive, well-trained staff, with direct reports comprised of two supervisors, the Clinical Manger, and the Billing Manager. The Practice Manager assists with clinical recruitment as needed. Team-based competencies include effective communication with supervising peers, staff, and clinicians, and the ability to initiate/participate in projects that foster support of the practice, whatever those might be.
The leadership style and integrity of the Practice Manager are critical to overall success. The variety of roles inherent to this position demands an individual with flexibility and ability to flow between and among multiple and wide-ranging priorities. An attitude of “no job is too small” is highly beneficial. Integration and collaboration skills are highly valued.
Children’s Health Services is a single site location in Greenville, NC The practice consists of 27 staff members:
· 5 Pediatricians (3 physician owners, 2 physician employees)
· 1 Nurse Practitioner
· 3 Physician Assistants
· 17 Clinical and Administrative support staff- of which 2 are managers (Clinical Manager and Billing Manager)
· 1 Practice Manager
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in health administration preferred.
At least 5 years of medical practice management experience, preferably in a physician-owned, primary care setting preferred.
Certification in Medical Practice/Medical Office Management issued by MGMA, AAPC preferred.
AAP CPT / ICD-10 coding certification preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point) required.
