Coastal Spine, a multidisciplinary spine center, is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our private practice specialty group as a Physician Extender. This position will encompass working with our Orthopedic Spine Surgeons, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physicians and Physician Assistants. Athletic Trainers at our practice rotate among 3 locations and work with a supervising physician.

We are willing to train our physician extender protocols to a qualified candidate.

Office Responsibilities:

• Obtain a full patient history, and review current medical problems
• Provide a physical exam, report findings to physicians
• Assist patients with questions or concerns regarding their treatment
• Dictate physician-dictated diagnosis and office visit
• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visit
• Prepare referral letters as directed by physician
• Provide patient education
• Check and correct mistakes in medical documentation to reduce errors
• Assist with quality improvement measures
• Assist with summarizing medical records for narratives and IME’s
• Hours are 8:30am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

Requirements:

• Active Certification by NATABOC
• Graduate of NATA approved curriculum
• New Jersey State AT License
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to type quickly and accurately. Proofread and edit physician’s medical documents for accuracy, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
• Comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards
