Responsibilities include:
Routine histology tasks including embedding, microtome, manual special stains, and automated immunohistochemistry (Bond III). Additional tasks include grossing dermatological and gastrointestinal specimens, as needed, preparing slides for distribution to pathologists, instrument maintenance, accessioning, and QC/QA documentation.
Clear Diagnostics is a growing dermatopathology reference laboratory located in sunny Tarpon Springs, Florida. The laboratory performs testing on dermatologic and gastroenterology specimens along with routine staining, immunohistochemistry, and direct immunofluorescence. We are seeking an experienced (3 year minimum), State of Florida licensed Histotechnologist to add to the team and are looking for an outgoing, hardworking, individual with a focus on quality and teamwork.
The role of a histotechnologist is to aide in the receipt, handling, and preparation of histologic slides with responsibilities including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic processes. The histotechnologist must be proficient in equipment maintenance and operation, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, frozen sections, quality control, documentation, troubleshooting, and possess basic computer literacy.
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week
