General Description:
The Materials Technician is responsible to oversee the material and related equipment from receipt through the stages of warehousing and preparation to production as well as recycling.
Organizational Relationships:
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Requirements:
· Must be a full time employee
· Must be 18 years old
· Must maintain an attendance record of 98% or better
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
· Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
· Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
· Must be capable of working with computers, smartphones, MES systems
· Must have the ability to follow work instructions and procedures
· Must be honest and have integrity
· Must have a current Forklift License; previous forklift experience preferred.
· Must be goal oriented to meet time frames
Job Responsibilities:
· Move, process, and inventory materials in a way that maintains traceability, quantities, and does not contaminate them.
· Perform the required planning and labor needed to provide the material supply and equipment availability to support manufacturing requirements.
· Operate a forklift to move materials in the facility and to load and unload trucks.
· Utilize ERP functions for inventory management, materials flow, and planning of work.
· Weigh, blend batches, regrind, and dry plastic and other production raw materials.
· Maintain the recycling / regrind area and operations.
· Clean equipment related to materials to maintain our clean, orderly work environment.
· Understand and maintain First In First Out movement of materials.
· Provide the equipment repair and Preventative Maintenance as required by our Preventative Maintenance schedule relating to material handling.
· Understand and follow Ess Tec procedures and systems.
· Work in a safe manner so personal safety, equipment, and part quality are not jeopardized.
· Communicate clearly and effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communication
· Responsible for knowing the Quality Policy Statement and how his/her job supports the statement and quality objective
· Perform all other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the immediate work area can be above the decibel threshold at times and may require hearing protection when tools and equipment are used. In addition, the technician must be able and willing to work any scheduled shift and weekends as the business schedules and demands dictate. Overtime is occasionally required.
