Summary
Estes Energetics is searching for Production Operators at our Goex black powder manufacturing facility on Camp Minden in Minden, Louisiana. The Production Operator performs manual production tasks, including tending to and running production machines, moving material, preparing packaging material, and packaging finished product.
This job requires working with explosives. You will be required to dress out in work-specific clothes issued to you by the company and shower at the end of each working day. The work environment is partly outdoors. Teamwork is especially important here in all aspects of the job as we strive for safety.
Essential Functions

• Perform manual production tasks, including tending to and running production machines, moving material, preparing packaging material, and packaging finished product.
• Work safely by accurately and strictly following established standard operating procedures and following safety rules.
• Work closely with other production workers, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other employees.

Competencies, Experience, and Education
Required

• High school diploma or GED must be able to read and understand English and do simple math
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass State and Federal background checks.

Desired

• Prior experience in manufacturing or working with explosives

The work will primarily be in an industrial explosives manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and some jobs require lifting 125 lbs. approximately 8" high from 1 cart to another periodically.
• Comfortable sitting, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Exposure to industrial machines, heat, cold, and explosives
• Frequent movement through a manufacturing environment
• Use of personal protective equipment appropriate to the work location

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical workdays are a '4x10' schedule, 10 hours per day, 4 days per week. Employees are expected to work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods.
