Academic Dean/Director of Education

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of academic operations at both campuses
• Establish and implement policies and procedures which ensure a high rate of student success in areas of attendance, student progress, program completion, graduate employment, and licensure/certification.
• Manage faculty members, program directors, and academic support personnel, including recruitment, supervision, evaluation, ongoing professional development and training
• Implement a systematic approach to curriculum development, integrating programs which are appropriate in length; contain comprehensive and relevant course outlines; measurable learning objectives; relevant and up to date instructional materials and equipment; integrate the use of adequate learning resource materials; and are designed to prepare students for gainful employment.
• Manage new program development with the assistance of subject matter specialists
• Conduct quarterly classroom observations to ensure appropriate lesson planning, documentation, and consistency with curriculum
• Maintain faculty files in accordance with ACCSC Standards hard copies to personnel files
• Administer student satisfaction surveys, ensuring their timely review, and prepare action plans to address concerns

• Provide oversite of the school’s Learning Resource System
• Ensure a systematic approach to providing a student services program that remains attentive to students’ educational and other needs, in relation to academic advising, coping skills, tutoring, outside referral counseling, records maintenance, graduate employment assistance, and student complaints.
• Demonstrate a commitment to providing a quality education to students in an ethical, fair, and honest manner, upholding all school policies, accrediting standards and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

Compliance Duties

• Ensure the school maintains compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards and guidelines
• Provide guidance and training to school leadership regarding compliance with accreditation and federal entities.
• Oversees and ensures the accurate and timely filing of annual reports, self-study documents, change requests, status updates, and other required reports, notifications and communication.
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in statutes, rules, regulations, standards, and guidance and inform all relevant parties of any regulatory changes.
• Serve as the campus’s Title IX Coordinator, ensuring compliance with all aspects of Title IX requirements.

• Chair the Institution Assessment and Planning meetings and implementation process
• Chair the Safety Committee and provide oversite of the school safety program
• Update the student handbooks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master's Preferred) and 5 years of experience in post-secondary career education and curriculum design
• Knowledge and experience in CAAHEP and ACCSC accreditation standards, USDOE and PADOE regulations
• Classroom Teaching/Program Director Experience required
• Experience developing and delivering online curriculum a big plus
• Past record of integrity
