About Us: Garfield County Public Library District serves the diverse communities of Rifle, Silt, New Castle, Parachute, Glenwood Springs, and Carbondale. Our libraries are vibrant hubs of learning and community engagement, offering a wide range of services and resources to our patrons.
The Role: As a Substitute Library Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer service, assisting with library operations, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing to the community.
Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering outstanding customer service to library patrons
• Assisting with various library tasks, including shelving books and organizing materials
• Providing support during temporary staffing shortages
• Maintaining a clean and welcoming library environment
• Performing basic computer tasks with proficiency
• Collaborating with team members to achieve library goals

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer literacy
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Availability to work flexible hours.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
• Must be available for last-minute call-ins.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Prior experience in customer service, office administration, or library services is a plus
