The Traffic Administrative Assistant supports the activities of the traffic, sales, and operations teams. These responsibilities are typically related to freight billing and handling. Additional duties include vendor relations and responsibilities in maintaining databases and reporting in the areas of insurance and other credentials.
Major tasks include but are not limited to:
* Approving and administrating freight bills from rail and truck vendors.
* Coordination payment with AP and traffic coordinators.
* Office responsibilities: Answering phones, greeting visitors, mail duties and office interior responsibilities.
* Assist customers, vendors, sales, traffic, and operation teams with questions, concerns and tasks as needed.
* Maintain and administer vendor insurance certificates and authority data; communicate expiration information and follow up.
* Maintain data base on approved vendors.
* Assist the setup and onboarding of new vendors including insurance certificate, motor carrier authority and payables.
* Assist in freight claims.
* Monitor and maintain reports on unbilled freight and invoicing for company owned trucks.
* Maintain rates for rail and truck in freight system.
* Rail shipment database.
Skills Required
* 3-5 Years' working experience.
* Professional written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organized.
* Excellent multitasker.
* Time-Management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Products - Excel and Word - spreadsheet proficiency a must.
* JD Edwards computer system not required but a plus.
