THE ROLE:
The Young JewishColumbus Manager (YJC) develops, implements, and monitors strategies and trends to inspire young Jewish adults (20s – 40s) on a pathway from initial engagement to deeper involvement with the Jewish community, leadership development and philanthropy. The Jewish community in Columbus is projected to grow rapidly in the coming years, and it is critical that this person can identify, cultivate, and engage with new members of the young adult community in a meaningful way. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of all activities, events, and data for the young adult demographic, and together with lay leadership, will drive the strategic planning process for YJC’s next phase of growth.
REPORTS TO: Senior Development and Event Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Young JewishColumbus Manager is responsible for the direction, planning, implementation, and strategy for the young adult program at JewishColumbus. Collaborating with the YJC Board, they will oversee the day-to-day and long range strategies for under-40 individuals and young families related to philanthropy, programming, and engagement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3-5 years of professional experience in areas including programming, development, and volunteer engagement
Professional Skills
Familiarity with the workings of the Jewish community and its culture, practices, and norms required
Understanding of the diverse experiences of people in their 20s-40s, including stages of education, career, and family life
Strong background in event programming and digital communication required
Experience with financial resource development, philanthropy and gift solicitation preferred
Experience working with stakeholder groups, including a board of community volunteers preferred
Communication and Digital Skills
Excellent oral and written communication required
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams required
Experience with digital graphic design and Constant Contact preferred
Personal Skills
Capable of building trust and working in partnership with staff and lay leadership
Entrepreneurial spirit with a take charge, self-starting attitude
Exhibits customer service-focused behavior and possesses integrity for maintaining confidential information
Ability to engage and work with people from diverse backgrounds
Strong organizational skills, effective multi-tasker, and adept at meeting deadlines
SCHEDULE & WORKSTYLE:
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $53,500-$60,000.
