Role and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Control Floor Supervisor is to be responsible for the direct supervision of the QC Technicians and production floor activities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

GENERAL:

• Provide support for the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
• Provides technical and process direction to Quality Control Technicians.
• Develops and recommends test procedures for raw materials, products in process, and finished products.
• Evaluates employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods.
• Continuously improve performance based on the key performance indicators
• Train employees in SOP’s and ensure training effectiveness in application of job skills
• Ensures manufacturing QA final acceptance.
• Maintain plant environmental testing program.
• Implement and follow up on corrective actions.
• Work with other production supervisors and managers to conform to the establishment’s policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the Lab.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn all tasks and fill in as needed for the QA Supervisor.
• Create weekly swab list
• Approve tech timecards
• Approve and keep track of tech vacation requests
• Exports
• Check RedZone throughout the day

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum bachelor’s degree in animal science, Nutrition or Microbiology for Animals or comparable experience or have applicable experience as substitute for college degrees.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of quality control and sanitation procedures.

Knowledge of HACCP requirements.

Must be well organized and detail oriented.

Must have strong communication skills.

Must possess ability to interact tactfully and effectively with subordinates and management.

Working ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Additional Notes

This position is directly responsible for:

Monitoring quality activities throughout the plant.

Microbiological testing and program compliance.

Managing the Quality Control technicians.

This position is expected to be on the production floor 90% of the work week.

This position is also expected to act as the backup for:

Acting as the USDA liaison.

Back of for QC Technicians on the production floor.

This position is expected to work 45-50 hours a week, including weekends or as needed to get the job done.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
