Jones Eye Care and Surgery, Inc is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Bridgeton, MO

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and equipment. COA Certification a plus. At least 3-5 years of experience in an Ophthalmic Practice preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry, IOL Master, Argos, refracting patients.
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient care and minor office procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems
- Educate patients on eye care, contact lens insertion/removal, and medication administration
- Conduct preliminary patient work-up including history taking and visual field testing
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

Experience:

- Prior experience in an Ophthalmic medical setting with a focus on patient care
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems like Epic
- Knowledge of optical principles and front desk operations helpful
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with medical coding systems is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
