Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and capable Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining accurate inventory levels for an electronic manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics and inventory control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Manage purchases by processing and releasing orders to suppliers, monitoring progress, and expediting shipments as needed.

- Coordinate incoming freight with suppliers .

- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders or deliveries by reviewing and reconciling shipping documents with purchase orders.

- Utilize various software systems to manage purchasing activities.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.

- Authorize payment of vendor invoices by forwarding receiving documentation to accounting department.

- Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.).

- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

- Monitor inventory levels to meet customer orders and forecast requirements.

- Coordinate with suppliers to replenish stock as needed.

- Collaborate with internal departments to identify procurement needs and develop procurement strategies.

- Review purchase requisitions and negotiate contracts with vendors to obtain the best pricing.

- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with purchase order terms.

- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products, and evaluate their capabilities.

- Prepare and implement effective and profitable negotiation tactics to reduce costs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role.

- Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions.

- Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g. QuickBooks).

- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, logistics, and inventory control.

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

- A strong analytical mindset.

- Outstanding organizational skills.

- Manufacturing experience is preferred.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Experience in contract management and e-commerce platforms is a plus.

- BS/BA in business administration or relevant field is preferred.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
