Long Lead (LLE) Construction Coordinator

Background KGO has been engaged to provide comprehensive project management to build data centers in Latin America. Project coordination will be performed from the U.S. but will also require travel to the project location. The candidate will have experience in coordination data centers or other mission-critical facility construction. Must be fluent in Spanish and English, ideally have experience working in Latin America, and have proven ability to quickly understand local culture as it impacts project coordination. Ideally, this candidate has easy access to a major airport, but this is not required.

Adherence to the project schedule is critical. The projects require significant amounts of critical equipment (mechanical and electrical components which will be imported into the country where the project is located. The ability to understand, track, and expertly manage supply chain issues will be imperative.
Functional Requirements:

  • Coordinate and track the long lead item (LLE) for the active project sites.
  • Work closely with the project management team on tracking LLE status.
  • Coordinate with the appointed forwarder.
  • Report to SPM and update LLE status to SPM when requested.
  • Track PO status of the equipment ordered.
  • Accountable for LLE status so that LLE are delivered to site per schedule.
  • Coordinate equipment storage with stakeholders and GC.
  • Participate in LLE meeting with GC.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to inspect the external condition and sign off.
  • Coordinate with the project team regarding LLE contract terms verifications and deliveries.
  • Perform normal project management tasks as needed: budget management, GC management/coordination/site progress inspections, client reporting.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in construction project management or related field.
  • Understands construction equipment/material logistics and proven experience in expediting delivery (experience in tracking and expediting cross-border equipment deliveries).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills along with sound computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Possess an exceptional level of attention to detail with a high level of customer focus and stakeholder management.
  • Must be flexible and able to work independently without significant supervision.
  • Proven ability to think, analyze and problem solve in very fast-paced environments, where meeting deadlines is paramount.
  • Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Creative problem solver.
