Journey Home Animal Care Center is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Rifle, CO

Receptionist

Vision:

The Journey Home Animal Care Center staff thrives on giving all patrons top-notch customer service, all animals the best possible care our resources permit and approaching every animal and person with compassion and understanding.

Job Summary:

Responsible for acting as a liaison between customers and staff. Assists with customer needs, complaints and questions. Provides information about our organization’s products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Demonstrates courteous and friendly manner towards customers, co-workers and volunteers on a daily and ongoing basis.

· Keep up to date on facebook, email, and voicemail at all times.

· Finalizing adoptions and scanning documents.

· Maintains neatness and cleanliness in adoption facility areas on daily and as needed basis. (Keeping clutter and donations picked up)

· Answer phones and customer questions.

· Surgery callbacks, scheduling, entering them in shelter buddy.

· Checking in, and checking out surgery animals, vaccine animals and entering them in shelter buddy.

· Maintains current on updated promotions, shelter services, shelter programs, and adoption efforts.

· Entering volunteer forms in the system and scanning them in with a copy of ID of volunteer. (Driver’s license or school ID.)

· Close out the money drawer daily.

· Completes and follows up with foster to adopt files.

· Is compassionate with patrons while assisting with the surrender of their animals.

· Shows animals to prospective adoption parents on an as needed basis.

· Keep Petco packets and adoptions packets done and ready.

· Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in an animal shelter with possible exposure to infectious organisms or zoonotic diseases (diseases of animals transmissible to humans), and cleaning chemicals. Daily exposure to high noise levels.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Verbal communication skills

· Customer service skills

· No allergies to animals

· Able to work with disinfectants and cleaning supplies

· Valid Driver’s license or ID

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform some physical work: Mopping, bending, lifting, some scrubbing. Also the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with assistance.

Knowledge and skills:

· Able to prioritize duties and perform multiple tasks at one time.

· Detail oriented

· Able to work in fast paced-quickly changing environment

· Sincere interest in the mission of Rifle Animal Shelter

· Efficient in computers

Client Service Duties:

· Provides overall basic customer relations/customer service, answer questions.

· Educates client on responsible pet ownership and animal care.

· Process necessary paperwork

· Actively promotes Journey Home Animal Care Center programs and events

· Solicits donations from clients, assists with accepting in-kind donations

· Keeps service desk stocked and orderly

· Represents Journey Home Animal Care Center in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
