KWB Pathology Associates is seeking a Full Time Surgical Pathology Technician to join our team! KWB Pathology Associates has been in practice for more than half a century and is a local, 100% pathologist-owned laboratory and practice which serves the greater Big Bend area of Florida. Pay starts at $21.00/hr.

This position is Monday – Friday, 12:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Education/Experience:

● At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, include either—

▪ 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses;

OR

▪ 24 semester hours of science courses that include—

▪Six semester hours of chemistry;

▪Six semester hours of biology; and

▪Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of basic human anatomy
• Ability to discern color
• Ability to work with/around laboratory chemicals/fumes
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

● Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Perform gross examination, description and dissection of human specimens

● Preparation of bone marrow specimens/smears

● Maintenance and operation of tissue processors

● Filing slides and blocks
