Marquis Beverages is Hiring a Territory Field Sales Representative Near San Jose, CA

*IMPORTANT*

Must reside in San Jose, California and able to travel to nearby markets regularly (ie. Santa Cruz). A valid driver’s license and reliable, working vehicle, proof of insurance is required to travel from account to account 95% of the time as this is a field-based, outside sales person, part-time, base salaried position with high earning commission potential. Remote to our office located in Downtown Los Angeles.

This role has the potential to become a full-time position!

The Opportunity:

As our Area Sales Representative in San Jose, California, this could be the next opportunity to exercise your entrepreneurial mindset, get you through college or be the start of a new career path in the beverage industry or you might be someone who has some experience in the CPG industry.

This role is a part-time, base salary commission position; a minimum of 5 hours per day and up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday with the opportunity to become a full-time employee. Occasional nights and weekends are required. This is a field-based, entry-level position with some to no related field experience required. We’ll provide the training, but ask that you are positive, motivated, looking for growth and development within a company, have the ability to learn quickly, are a self-starter and an outside-of-the box creative.

The Area Sales Representative will be responsible for overseeing all facets of Marquis’ business in the Los Angeles, Valley territory and other surrounding areas and will call on a small base of off and on-premise retail accounts. The Area Sales Representative will grow the existing businesses, prospect/close new business increasing volume and velocity while establishing long-lasting professional relationships with store personnel. This role will be responsible for generating brand awareness and pull-through at the local level by supporting the retailers executing marketing initiatives, in-store demos and event activations. The Area Sales Representative will handle transactions from A-Z according to Marquis standards: selling, merchandising, delivery and brand-building. You will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to plan, strategize, and apply tactics for achieving volume goals.

  • High school graduate required (college degree preferred, not required)
  • At least one year in a sales or marketing focused position (preferred, not required)

  • High comfort level in meeting new people, warming leads and closing new business

  • Ability to learn new CRM Applications- ie. Repsly
  • Proficient with MS Office & G-Suite; computer and cell-phone literate
  • Must have the flexibility to travel as necessary to support nearby markets.

What you will do:

  • Grow the current account base, identify new potential accounts that align with Marquis’ target demographic, and close new accounts.
  • Communicate and consistently collaborate with the sales and marketing departments to ensure strategies are aligned with marketing and sales goals
  • Set SMART goals, track your progress, meet and exceed KPI objectives on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Merchandise and assess product at store-level: pack out shelves, rotate product, manage unsaleable product, build displays, make and/or replace shelf tags, apply POS materials; monitor stores to ensure share of shelf, identify and correct voids
  • Create a sales plan and efficiently route account visits to achieve sales plan
  • Delivery product to retail accounts with use of personal vehicle
  • Act as ambassador for the brand by sampling product at key events and in-store demos
  • Support nearby markets outside of territory as needed (ie. in the absence of a teammate or at an event in need of additional staffing).
  • Support retail accounts by executing current marketing initiatives to help drives sales at the local level
  • Actively and enthusiastically engage current and potential business partners and consumers on a regular basis to educate them on the brand and develop strong relationships
  • Identify any key high-traffic, consumer-centric locations, and events to deliver brand awareness and drive trial
  • Utilize a field sales mobile application, Repsly, to document activities, ensure consistency and proper follow-up on a daily basis and for every account visit
  • Handle order transactions and follow Marquis’ standard of procedures
  • Deliver event and demo recaps in a timely manner
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, trade days, blitz, crew drives etc.
  • Maintain accuracy of product inventory
  • Protect our company’s value by keeping information confidential and secure
  • Represent our brand in an ethical, professional and passionate manner at all times
  • Conscientiously budget, manage and report expenses

Type/Pay Rate/Hours/Benefits:

  • Mon - Fri, minimum 5 hours per day, up to 30 hours per week
  • Working hours vary depending on business needs. Availability needed between hours of 7am-2pm
  • Occasional afternoons, nights and weekends may be required for demos or event activities
