Who You Are:
As a Nutrition Assistant, you are passionate about promoting healthy eating habits among students. You have a foundational understanding of nutrition science and are skilled at applying this knowledge to create appealing, balanced meals for young people. You are enthusiastic, collaborative, and adept at communicating with students, parents, and school staff. Your meticulous nature ensures adherence to dietary guidelines and safety standards in the school cafeteria.
The approximate hours for this role are 8:00am - 2:00pm, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:

• The position requires a high school diploma or GED
• Food Service experience is preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
• A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and support

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for all food leaving the serving line by accurately using a computerized point of sale (POA System).
• Have a good understanding of the federal requirements for reimbursable meals
• Have a deep understanding and ability to comply with the collection procedure approved for the school
• Accurately complete the cashier's sheet at the end of meal service with all transactions properly recorded.
• Fill in when and wherever needed to ensure efficient kitchen operation
• Prepare daily snack
• Receive deliveries and serve food
• Have the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
• Have knowledge about the quantity of food preparation methods and procedures
• Read, interpret, and follow standardized recipes accurately
• Properly use and care for all equipment in the Child Nutrition Program
• Have the ability to follow Sanitation and Safety procedures
• Follow verbal and written work and cleaning schedules as assigned
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Comply with policies and procedures from the state
• Communicate positively with school staff, students, parents, and visitors
• Perform all other assigned duties
• Maintain accurate records of meal planning and student feedback to continually improve the meal service
• Handle sensitive student information with confidentiality and professionalism

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Cafeteria Directors, working closely with them to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s nutrition services.
