Magellan Development is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Property Manager to assist in the operations of Millie, a 289-unit luxury apartment building located on Michigan Avenue in the Loop.

• Able to perform basic to intermediate accounting functions, including collecting of rent and minimizing delinquency.
• Ensure all revenue data is accurately posted to Yardi accounting software.
• Assist Property Manager in minimizing expenses, maximizing revenue and adhering to operating budget.
• Generate monthly tenant delinquency reports.
• Assist Property Manager with monthly financial and property activity reports.
• Process A/P and A/R, including verification of appropriate back-up and coding as well as prompt delivery to property accountant.
• Assist with coordination of move ins and move outs.
• Inspect vacant units upon move out and generates tenant billing accordingly.
• Maintain accurate resident files.
• Maintain effective resident communication, responding promptly to resident inquiries and service requests.
• Supervise and oversee front desk/door staff including schedules.
• Issue appropriate resident notices, including delinquent notices.
• Fill role of Property Manager in Property Manager’s absence.
• Greet prospective residents and performs leasing functions, when necessary.
• Provide superior customer service to residents and prospects.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 2 years of multi-family management experience with mixed-use experience preferred.
• Effective communication and presentation skills both written and verbal, formal and informal.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing practices and laws.
• Superior customer service and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of industry specific software programs such as Yardi, RealPage, YieldStar, etc.
• General computer and software skills, including strong knowledge of Adobe suite, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
• Illinois Real Estate License (or willingness to obtain after hire)
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
