Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The bookkeeping duties are for a physician-hospital organization. Duties will include A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger entries, banking and bank reconciliation, electronic transfer of funds, end of month reports, ability to read financials and determine the data is correct, filing, and monthly contact with controller/CPA. Employee must be highly-motivated and well-organized, and must display a professional, positive attitude. Current experience with QuickBooks (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office software are required. Accounting or management degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Set up new customers and vendors.
• Assess membership dues, malpractice premium assessments and other fees as needed.
• Generate invoices and statements.
• Mail invoices and statements.
• Process accounts receivable.
• Process accounts payable.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Maintain a filing system.
• Maintain confidentiality

OTHER DUTIES:

Perform other clerical duties and assist other staff as needed.

SKILLS:

Must display a professional, positive attitude. Must be well organized and self-motivated. Must have exceptional telephone skills and excellent oral communication skills. Proficient with QuickBooks (or equivalent), Outlook, Word, Excel, and using the Internet. Must be able to type and compose professional correspondence regarding accounts. Must be able to use a computer, multiple-line phone system, 10-key, copier, fax machine, printer, and postage meter.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
