Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining inventory control. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in sourcing and procurement.

Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, supplies, and equipment needed for production
- Review purchase requisitions and create purchase orders
- Coordinate with vendors to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and plan inventory levels
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize pricing and service levels
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and inventory control
- Proficiency in purchasing software
- Experience in sourcing materials from multiple suppliers
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
