General Manager

Job Overview
OneRelo Worldwide, Agent for Mayflower Transit, is looking for a competent and qualified individual with a strong work ethic to fill the General Manager position in our Boise location. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the branch’s profit and performance. Working directly with Operations, Accounting, Administrative, and Sales teams, this position assumes full accountabilities for all aspects of the success, management, safety, compliance and talent development of this branch. All budgeting, P&L, and growth for the operation of the assigned branch will be owned by this role.

Duties

  • Manage commercial and household goods relocation, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain solutions.
  • Work and plan to ensure comprehensive training and development of all staff members.
  • Identify, address, and resolve any business performance related issues to achieve a more efficient operation.
  • Develop and implement operating procedures that will increase efficiency of the operations of the moving and storage components.
  • Ensure all staff understand company goals and deliver a consistent superior service in line with quality standards.
  • Continuously aim to maintain high levels of customer service across all moving and relocation services by ensuring customer satisfaction, operational excellence, cost controls, and profitability.
  • Ensure accurate financial, budgeting, and forecasting for branch Accounting & A/R.
  • Participate in and promote branch and corporate initiatives.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with internal shared service providers (Customer Service, Accounting, Marketing, and HR) to ensure that all areas of the division are running efficiently and optimally.
  • Ensure the company complies with operating standards, maintaining a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
  • Stay up to date with business trends and changes within the relocation, moving, and storage industry.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the relocation industry, local market, customer, and competitor activity.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a background working at the General Manager level within the moving industry.
  • Successful candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years of management experience; will be responsible for the profitable execution of all operations and business development activities for growing the branch, which includes residential, commercial, and military services.
  • This position requires experience with budget planning, expense control, quality assurance, customer service, warehouse supervision, safety and knowledge of all DOT laws and compliance.
  • Must be highly organized with strong organizational, leadership, and management skills in a multifaceted work environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication.
  • Must be detail oriented and customer focused.
  • Must have proven ability to troubleshoot operational problems.
  • Familiar with applicable laws, regulatory agency requirements for managing, storage and transportation of goods/services for household goods, relocations, and commercial/specialty services.
  • Diverse communicator, comfortable working with all levels of management and staff.
  • Strong IT skills with previous experience with MS Office products and Moving and Storage programs.

This position demands attention to detail, adherence to company policies, willingness to work overtime when necessary, and a commitment to professionalism. The General Manager must be physically capable of working in both office and warehouse environments.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
