Job Description: We are seeking to add a compassionate and organized member to our team who will play a crucial role in working with other staff managing client intakes, working closely with clients to set and achieve goals, providing essential resources, help with the upkeep of the house, and ensuring the shelter maintains a calm, collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Intake and Assessment:
• Conduct client intakes, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Assess clients' immediate needs and identify long-term goals.

• Goal Setting and Progress Tracking:
• Collaborate with clients to establish personalized case plans and achievable objectives.
• Regularly monitor clients' progress toward their goals and provide guidance and support as needed.

• Resource Coordination:
• Connect clients with relevant community resources, including housing assistance, employment services, childcare, and healthcare providers.
• Assist clients in accessing available government programs and financial assistance.

• Client Advocacy:
• Serve as an advocate for clients, ensuring their rights and needs are respected.
• Address any barriers or challenges that clients face in accessing services or support.

• Maintaining a Calm and Collaborative Environment:
• Ensure the shelter environment is peaceful and supportive.
• Mediate conflicts and maintain a sense of community among clients.
• Work with Client Manager to complete necessary tasks.
• Work closely with other part time staff to cover shifts.

• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes and case plans.
• Provide regular reports on client progress to the Client Manager and/or members of the Board of Directors.
• House Upkeep
• Maintain the cleanliness of the house.
• Support clients in care of the house.
• Light maintenance and housekeeping

Qualifications:

• Experience in case management or social work, particularly in homeless shelters or related settings.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to clients.
• Knowledge of local community resources and services.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and other staff members.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position with about 10-20 hours per week (flexible). We will be working with existing staff to schedule hours and shifts. Some evenings and/or weekend shifts necessary. This is an hourly position. Wages are based on experience and skills.
