Job Brief:

The database developer’s role is to design, code and maintain databases across the organization. The developer will work closely with the senior developers to implement the business needs. The Database Developer will in addition evaluate and advise on all technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and applications.

Job Details:

• Performance Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance issues within PostgreSQL databases, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
• Data Modeling: Design, implement, and maintain data models that effectively support business processes. Optimize schema and database structures for better performance and scalability.
• Reporting: Develop, manage, and optimize reports generated from PostgreSQL databases to assist in financial analysis and decision-making. Ensure reports are precise, accessible, and cater to the needs of stakeholders.
• SQL Proficiency: Utilize advanced SQL skills for complex query writing, data manipulation, and analysis. Maintain high standards of data quality and integrity.
• OLAP and OLTP Optimization: Apply knowledge of OLAP and OLTP database architectures to improve performance tuning and query optimization.
• Caching Strategies: Implement and manage caching mechanisms to enhance database performance. Develop strategies that minimize latency and maximize data retrieval speeds.
• Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Manage documentation of processes, reports and database relationships.

Requirements:

• 3 - 6 years of experience writing PostgreSQL
• PostgreSQL/Oracle experience
• Extensive understanding of SQL
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communications skills
• BS degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

Desired:

• AWS RDS experience
• Linux shell scripting
• Python experience
• AWS Lambda functions using Python

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
