SPCA of East Texas is Hiring an Animal Caretaker Near Tyler, TX

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and possess the necessary skills to provide quality care to a variety of animals.

Duties:

- Provide daily care and feeding for animals
- Maintain clean and sanitary living environments for animals
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Assist with animal handling and restraint as needed
- Administer medications under supervision of DVM/LVT
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals
- Walk and exercise animals daily.
- Restock food, blankets, supplies

Requirements:

- Previous experience in animal care or related field is preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Familiarity dog , cat and kennel handling practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment with staff and volunteers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
