Staff Benefits Management and Administrators is Hiring an Account Manager III or IV Near San Diego, CA

SBMA, a third-party administrator, is an affordable ACA-compliant benefits provider to thousands of employers. Their goal is to simplify the complexity of providing employee benefits. SBMA is different because of its personal service, speed of implementation, and innovative approach to benefits coverage.

SBMA is currently seeking an Account Manager to join our growing team. The Account Manager will be responsible for a number of daily administrative tasks. Qualified candidates will possess the ability to pay attention to detail, self-motivation, outstanding customer service (verbal and written), learn and use new computer systems and software, and work well in collaborative environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Articulate, polite, and tactful communication style.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
  • Receive inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate party.
  • Give information and help to solve customer problems.
  • Verify coverage for providers.
  • Scan & email documents
  • ID card requests.
  • Daily office tasks such as Outlook Inbox management, etc.
  • Effective time management and ability to multitask.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Health and Life Insurance License Preferred
  • 5 years of Insurance Experience required
  • 5 years of Medical Benefits Related Experience required
  • 3 years of prior benefit/eligibility portal experience required
  • Bilingual (not required, but a plus)

Education and Experience:

  • 5 Years of prior insurance experience, required
  • A high school diploma or the recognized equivalent, required
  • 5 years of prior medical benefits-related insurance experience required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge)
  • 5 years of prior experience working in an administrative/office setting

Other Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently on assigned duties and collaborate effectively with a team
  • Must be well-versed with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
