Stella's Restaurant is Hiring a Bar Manager/Bartender Near Simpsonville, SC

Rotie by Stellas, located in the new Bridgeway Station off of Highway 385 is seeking an experienced Bartender/Bar Manager to join our team! We are a locally owned restaurant group that focuses on providing fine dining service in a relaxed atmosphere. We pride ourselves on having an extensive knowledge of our menu and ingredients that go into each dish.

  • Base pay plus tips while bartending
  • Hourly rate when performing manager duties (inventory, ordering, R&D for seasonal cocktails, training sessions, etc.)

Under supervision of the General Manager and the Director of Beverage, below are the job duties.

Core Responsibilities

*Primary responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

Bartender Job Duties

  • Work service shifts behind bar while also being responsible for serving a section.
  • Responsible for well during service shifts.
  • Keeping reasonable ticket times while maintaining quality drinks.
  • Keep the bar clean on a daily basis while also completing weekly sidework for each shift. Alerting management when maintenance is needed.
  • Following recipes and using the correct bar tools when needed. Holding a high standard for quality of garnishes, syrups, juices & batched items. Maintaining a standard for labeling, ticket times, bar standards, and all other typical bar duties.
  • Creating weekly cocktail features to try out that showcase local, quality ingredients that are on trend/on brand. Providing meaningful feedback and suggestions on current bartending procedures
  • Opening and closing duties executed in a timely fashion.

* Please know that in our company, all bartenders work together and are often assigned tables in the dining room as part of their 'section' in addition to bar & cocktail. This makes for a more cohesive & well rounded FOH team that knows service on all fronts, can help each other & work well together!

Bar Manager Requirements:

  • Inventory and order all BWL outside of Director of Beverage
  • Maintain and order all bar equipment, tools, glassware.
  • Creation of seasonal cocktail menu. Price cocktails to meet industry standards.
  • Business development & drink creation.
  • Assist the Beverage Director with pricing, suggestions on profit growth, regularly communicate on improvements for bar and BWL selection, execution of dinners, tastings and events.
  • Work with the Private Dining team to curate a great BWL package. Assess current pricing against local standards of cost and improve revenue of BWL for private dining events.
  • Educating the staff through line ups, weekly “10 minute reviews” of basic BWL related things for servers, leading or setting up speakers for beverage training sessions with staff.
  • Educate and maintain bar staff to the standard you set for guest satisfaction and quality of cocktail

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of 1 year Bar Management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Bartending experience
  • Flexibility and availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Team Player
  • Great Interpersonal skills
  • Assertive
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and active listening skills
  • Ability to accurately record food and beverage orders and deliver to guests
  • Ability to properly time the service of each course to ensure a quality dining experience
  • Follows all food and beverage health safety guidelines and alcohol service protocols
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays

*Ideal candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of cocktails and ability to work well under pressure. Have a passion for the hospitality industry, a strong work ethic with the ability to work well as part of a team and a desire to learn.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to move about the dining room to service guests
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50lbs
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of items up to 50lbs
